Icheon City was developed in such a way so as to maintain harmony between the City's rural heritage and its modern development. It has several traditional rural theme villages, where people can participate in cultural activities. The theme villages will bring back adults’ childhood memories and make children feel like they are visiting their grandmother’s house in the countryside. Activities, which vary seasonally, include rice planting, sowing, rice harvesting, a sweet potato dig, loach collecting, locust collecting, and sledding. Visitors can also experience traditional Korean farmer’s music, and can sample seasonal food, traditional dishes from Icheon, and traditional or specialty drinks.
